Drops

Release a work or a viewing room at a set time, first-come or by random draw.

A drop is a timed release. You schedule when a work or a whole viewing room becomes buyable, and the platform holds the line until then.

Use it when demand outruns supply and you'd rather not reward whoever happens to refresh at the right moment.

Scheduling a drop

Pick what you're releasing — a single artwork, or a viewing room — then set the times:

  • Opens at — when it goes live.
  • Early access at — optional, for letting a chosen group in first.
  • Closes at — for a draw, the deadline for entries.

Times are shown in UTC throughout, deliberately: a drop's audience is usually spread across timezones, and one fixed reference avoids the ambiguity.

How the work gets allocated

Two approaches are live:

  • Immediate — the work simply becomes buyable when the drop opens. First come, first served.
  • Draw — collectors enter for free during the window. When entries close, the platform draws a random order and offers the work to the first entrant. Each winner gets a limited time to complete; if they don't, the offer passes to the next in line automatically.

Entry is always free. A draw never charges anyone to take part.

There's a third option, priority, offered when you create a drop. Its early-access windows work, but tier-based selection isn't finished — a priority drop currently allocates the same way a draw does. Choose it only if the early window is what you're after.

What collectors see

Before a drop opens, the work shows its state rather than a buy button — so a collector browsing your rooms sees that something is coming, not a dead end.

Following a drop through

The list shows every drop with its state: scheduled, in early access, open, selecting, allocating, then fulfilled or closed. You can cancel a drop or delete it.

Two things are worth knowing before you plan around them. Notifying winners isn't yet a button in the app, and the list of who won isn't shown on screen. Both exist in the platform but need us to trigger them for now — so tell us in advance if you're running a draw.

Who can set one up

Drops sit behind the revenue permission, alongside Sales and Reports. Creating, cancelling, and deleting need editor access.
